Thought

The people who know me closely know me as someone who is constantly consumed with thought/thinking. For several years now, one of my favorite commercials have been the Yves Saint Laurent Commercial with Olivier Martinez that represents for me, the art of thought. This without a doubt has played a role in inspiration w/ my menswear film that you'll see later in the year (crossing my fingers.)

STARTUP JUNKIES

A few years ago, (in high school) i was exposed to Dragons Den and docs about startups like, The Startup. Ive gone to VC meetings and seen the pitches, the business plan competitions etc. With them all, the reaction is the same. thrill. Im not talking about these Shark Tank, everybody's looking to create $400k in profits. In the words of Gekko, "I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing." Anyone knows that the ability to actually have an idea created is a tough task. but to actually pitch turn it into something profitable is something completely different. we are looking at a new generation of creators. i love the fashion industry. but i wish that the turnaround in making money in relation to dot coms was like that of Oracle. I'd check the Forbes 400 and see only a few designers, barely making the mark. I mean, come on: there's got to be a way.

But for all the Startup Junkies who get a rush from the idea of creating, take a look at this show. this is my first watch so don't kill me if its horrible.
